This dumb-frotz was slightly modified to fit into the NLPI framework: it returns an ASCII-character value 254 after the game prompt is written. NLPI will fail to 'Walk' when a non-conforming stdin/stdout interpreter is used.
It was compiled with lcc-win32 (written by Chris Fraser, Dave Hanson and Jacob Navia).
